(KENOCKEE TOWNSHIP) -- Detectives with the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department are investigating a suspicious house fire that occurred during the early morning hours of May 2 in Kenockee Township. Sheriff Tim Donnellon says the blaze was reported at a residence in the 7800 block of Beard Road at around 4:20 a.m. No injuries were reported. Kenockee Township firefighters were assisted by departments from Clyde Township, Grant Township and Emmett. Members of the St. Clair County Fire Investigation Team conducted an investigation once the fire was extinguished and determined the cause was suspicious in nature. A reward is being offered by the Michigan Arson Prevention Committee for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
