(PORT HURON TOWNSHIP) -- The Speedy-Q Market on Water Street in Port Huron Township was robbed early Tuesday morning. St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon says a man walked into the store shortly before 3:00 a.m., went to a cooler and took out a bottle of pop, and then went up to the counter. When the clerk opened the cash register, the suspect reached over the counter, grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and ran out of the store to the east. Authorities checked the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. Sheriff Donnellon says no one was hurt during the incident and no weapon was seen or implied. The suspect was described as an African American man, possibly in his 40's, approximately 5'7" tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a maroon winter coat with a hood and blue jeans. He also had a cut on his hand. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Kelsey Wade at 810-987-1738.
