LOS ANGELES (AP) - Not as many people are watching "American Idol" these days as in years past. But as the Fox program gets down to its final three contestants for the season, the remaining singers have stories that are almost as compelling as the ongoing bickering between judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. One of the finalists, Candice Glover has been rejected twice by the show before making her run this year. Kree Harrison nearly gave up on her goal of becoming a singer after scoring some recording deals in Nashville - only to be told she had to change her style to suit the suits at the labels. The obstacles Angie Miller has had to overcome were physical in nature. As a child she suffered ruptured ear drums and impaired hearing - so much so that she may need ear surgery once she's done with Idol.
