MSP collects 700 lbs. of pills on National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

(AREA) -- Michigan State Police posts across the state collected 709 pounds of prescription drugs during National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day held on Saturday, April 27. The Michigan State Police partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration and local law enforcement agencies to provide a safe, convenient and responsible venue for citizens to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs. The Caro Post collected 30 pounds of pills and the Lapeer Post collected 36 pounds. The service was free and anonymous with no questions asked.
