(PORT HURON) -- The Port Huron Police Department held another successful fundraiser for the Special Olympics last Saturday, raising over $1,000. The department's 2nd Annual Dodge Ball Tournament took place at the Port Huron High School gymnasium with fourteen teams, representing various community groups and public safety entities, participating to raise money for a great cause. The proceeds will be donated to the Special Olympics, the world's largest sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The organization provides year-round training and competitions for more than 4-million athletes in 170 countries. Nearly 20,000 athletes participate in Michigan Special Olympics programs.
