(MINDEN CITY) -- A 35-year-old Minden City man was taken into custody Monday evening after police responded to a call where the man had gotten into an altercation with his 33-year-old girlfriend at a Minden Road residence in Huron County's Paris Township. Police say the man had struck the woman with a mop and also assaulted an 11-year-old family member that was trying to defend the woman. The suspect then drove off with the woman's car. He was located by Huron County Sheriff deputies a short time later and after a brief high-speed chase at speeds over 90 mph, he was stopped and taken into custody without further incident. Late Tuesday afternoon, the suspect Justin G. Hulbert of Minden City, was charged with four counts including felony aggravated domestic violence, misdemeanor domestic violence, felony fleeing and eluding and driving while license suspended. He is currently being held in the Huron County jail on a $20,000 cash bond.
