State Representative Lauwers helps get additional funding for Michigan road repairs

(AREA) -- State Representative Dan Lauwers of Brockway Township worked with his colleagues to provide an additional $50 million in existing state dollars to go toward fixing Michigan roads under a state budget proposal approved Wednesday by the Michigan House. The funding comes from $25 million initially designated for film credits and $25 million earmarked for the Michigan Strategic Fund. The House budget proposal already included an extra $100 million for road repairs, bringing the total funding to $150 million. Representative Lauwers stated that legislators must continue to make more efficient use of all taxpayer dollars and this initial budget proposal delivers for the people of Michigan.
