(PORT HURON TOWNSHIP) -- A person suspected in the thefts of air conditioning units from businesses in Kimball and Port Huron Townships has been arrested. St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon says several businesses had their central air units stolen during the evening and overnight hours over the last month. The 41-year old Port Huron Township man was arrested Wednesday after the owner of an area scrap yard contacted authorities about a person trying to turn in an air conditioning unit. The man was arrested for driving while license suspended and suspicion of larceny. While questioning the suspect, investigators determined that he was allegedly involved in at least six separate larcenies involving the theft of air conditioning units and scrap metal. A second suspect is still being sought in connection to the crimes. The Port Huron Township man remains jailed pending arraignment.
