"MASH" Psychiatrist dies

NEW YORK (AP) - He only appeared in 12 episodes, but Allan Arbus will always be remembered as Major Sidney Freedman, the psychiatrist in "M-A-S-H." His most famous episode was the series finale that was watched by a record 106 million people. Hawkeye goes to see him after having what appears to be a nervous breakdown. Freedman gets him to remember being in a bus hiding from the enemy. A Korean woman smothered her baby to keep it quiet. Freedman left Hawkeye with his signature line: "take my advice, pull down your pants and slide on the ice." Arbus' daughter tells the LA Times that Arbus died at home at the age of 95.
