(LAPEER COUNTY) -- McLaren-Lapeer Region Hospital has been ordered to pay back 51 nurses who filed a grievance after a portion of their wages was cut without a labor contract negotiation. In a press release issued Tuesday, the Michigan Nurses Association says a group of nurses who worked at McLaren-Lapeer Region Medical Center will be refunded a yet-to-be determined amount after an arbitrator ruled last month the hospital had unfairly cut their wages by $2 an hour. The amount was cut from wages of some in August 2011. The Lapeer hospital, part of McLaren's system that brings in $2.6 billion in revenue each year, is the primary provider of health care services to Lapeer County and the surrounding area. The approximately 200 nurses at McLaren Lapeer Region are represented by the Michigan Nurses Association.
