Deckerville Schools will become a closed campus this fall

(DECKERVILLE) -- Deckerville Schools will become a closed campus starting this fall. The school board adopted the Late Arrival and Early Dismissal policy at their meeting this week and students will no longer be able to leave the building during lunch.

The following 2013-2014 Winter coaches were approved as presented by Athletic Director, Scott McVittie--Adam Klee-Varsity Boys Basketball, Jim Gentner-Volunteer Varsity Boys Basketball, Cory Schumacher-JV Boys Basketball, Todd Walker-8th Grade Boys Basketball, Dave Troyer-7th Grade Boys Basketball, Pat Oswald-Varsity Girls Basketball, Jodi Emming-Volunteer Girls Basketball, Stephanie Gobie-Volunteer Girls Basketball, Maureen Kirkpatrick-JV Girls Basketball, Doug Kirkpatrick-Volunteer JV Girls Basketball, Gary Cesefske-8th Grade Girls Basketball, Melissa Tank-7th Grade Girls Basketball.

In other business, a $.10 increase in lunch prices for students and staff for the 2013-2014 school year was approved. Kindergarten through 4th grade elementary lunch will be $1.85, 5th-12th grade secondary lunch will be $2.10 and an adult lunch will now be $2.85. The board also approved the International Transmission Company resolution to waive Deckerville School's right to file a claim of ownership of property located on Deckerville Road between Farnsworth Road and Stringer Road where a previous country school was located.
