Peck man convicted of armed robbery sentenced to 30 to 50 years in prison

(WATERTOWN TOWNSHIP) -- The 31-year old Peck man convicted in the armed robbery of the Watertown Party Store has been sentenced to 30 to 50-years in prison. Howard Deon Wiggins was sentenced by Sanilac County Circuit Court Judge Donald A Teeple Monday to 28-50-years for armed robbery, 6-20-years for felon of possession of a firearm, and 2-years for a felony firearms charge, which will be served prior to the start of the other sentences. The armed robbery took place just before 8:30 p.m. October 26, 2012 at the party store on S. Sandusky Road in Watertown Township. The clerk was robbed at gunpoint by Wiggins, who left the scene with a substantial amount of cash. Another person in the case, Cassandra Marie Kelly of Peck, has been charged for her role in the heist and is scheduled to go to trial at a later date.
