(ST. CLAIR COUNTY) -- State Representative Dan Lauwers of Brockway Township has begun the process of reviewing and researching more than 50 ideas that residents sent him as part of his legislative contest to give constituents the chance to help direct public policy. The lawmaker will introduce the Top Five ideas as legislation. Lauwers says he was looking for ideas that would encourage a healthier economy, improve our quality of life and make state government more efficient. Proposals that either created, changed or eliminated laws or programs were considered. According to Representative Lauwers, who serves the 81st House District, the purpose of the contest was to engage local residents and give them an even greater voice in their state government.
