(CLYDE TOWNSHIP) -- The St. Clair County Sheriff Dive Team conducted a practice session Saturday, April 13, designed to work on rescuing people caught in a flood situation. The Swift Water Rescue Practice was held on the Black River near the M-136 bridge. The Dive Team and area fire departments have been called out to the area in the past to search for trapped or missing canoeists. The river was high and running fast, creating a hazard scenario. The team also set up a rope system and practiced positioning a rescuer near a trapped victim in order to attempt a rescue.
