(AREA) -- A 102-year-old woman who was married for 83-years to a man she met in a rural Michigan church has died. Victoria Wrubel died Monday at Angelica's Place in Romeo. She grew up in the largely Polish community of Parisville, in Huron County. In a March interview, Steve Wrubel said that he fell in love with Victoria Puvalowski after the two met as children at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The 103-year-old retired autoworker says he remembers her as "this little girl with curly hair." They were married September 28, 1929, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ubly. The couple lived in Mount Morris after Steve Wrubel retired from General Motors. They later lived in Holiday, Florida.
