(BROWN CITY) -- Following a public hearing on Monday evening, the Brown City Council adopted the budget for the 2013-14 fiscal year. The proposed spending guide calls for revenues and expenditures totaling $1,931,000. This is an increase of $433,000 when compared to the current budget. The increased expenditures are for repairs to the water tower and water main, as well as street improvements. The revenues to do the work are coming from the water and street reserve funds. The council also passed a resolution keeping the city's millage rate at 16.87 mills and the Brown City Parks millage rate at 1.25 mills.
