UNDATED (AP) - The "Young and the Restless" is celebrating its 40th anniversary. The CBS show debuted on March 26, 1973. It's been daytime's top-rated soap since 1988. Now, the network says the show is looking to the future by adding younger members to the cast that includes such long-running characters as Nikki and Victor, and Katherine Chancellor. Y-and-R says it also works to hang on to fans through video chats, and getting the veterans to join their younger cast mates on Twitter.
