(WATERTOWN TOWNSHIP) -- Fire of undermined origin destroyed a barn owned by John Sadowy located at 908 Elk Creek Road in Watertown Township. Sandusky Fire Chief Todd Hillman says the 40 by 70 structure was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived shortly after 7 p.m. Friday evening. The barn was used for storage and a number of antique snowmobiles were among the items destroyed in the blaze. A monetary estimate of the loss was not available. According to family members, John Sadowy suffered third degree burns on his hands as a result of the blaze. Firefighters from Applegate, Carsonville, Elk and Speaker Townships assisted in battling the fire. The scene was cleared around 11:30 p.m.
