NBC reportedly planning to replace Leno with Fallon

LOS ANGELES (AP) - While speculation heats up that Jimmy Fallon will replace Jay Leno as host of the"Tonight Show," Fallon is joking about it while Leno continues to ridicule his bosses in their monologues. Leno compared NBC executives to the snakes St. Patrick drove out of Ireland. This came after he was reportedly told to lay off the brass by an NBC executive. Fallon addressed the rumor at the top of his monologue. He said he wanted to talk about reports that he would be moving to 11:30, or as he said his parents called it "Eh, it's still too late." Then he said, "Actually, the rumors are true. NBC is turning the 'Tonight Show' into a diving competition," a reference to ABC's new reality show "Splash." The New York Times quotes a network executive as saying though the there's no deal yet, "there is no way on earth that this is not going to happen."
