(CROSWELL) -- Croswell City Council members have reached a contract agreement with new City Administrator Samuel Moore. The former Community Development Director for the Village of Cass City will officially start on April 1. The 4-year contact includes a $65,000 salary upon hiring with increases after satisfactory 6-month and 1-year reviews. His salary would be $73,000 in the fourth year of the contract. Moore was offered the position in February. He replaces John Espinoza, who retired from the position in December 2012.
In other business Monday night, the council set a special meeting for Monday, March 25 at 7 p.m. at the Aitken Memorial District Library to review the proposed 2013-2014 budget. A public hearing will be held at 7:30 p.m. regarding a $253,000 Community Development Block Grant. The city is applying for the grant to address lighting. Residents may review the grant application. Council members will also review a new job description for the head of Department of Public Services. The position will cover all of the city's utility departments. A current supervisor will be moved to that position if a job description can be agreed on.
