City of Croswell offers City Manager position to top candidate

(CROSWELL) -- The Croswell City Council selected their top choice for the City Manager position after interviews with four candidates Sunday. 28-year old Samuel Moore, current Community Development Director for the Village of Cass City, was offered the position. The Michigan Municipal League is conducting background and reference checks as the city attorney draws up a contract. City Clerk Sue Dobson says a start date has not been set as the background and reference checks take place. Interim Administrator Amy Planck will stay on the job and work with Mr. Moore, helping him assume his new duties as City Manager. The Michigan Municipal League has been assisting the City of Croswell in the search for a replacement after John Espinoza retired in December 2012. The three other finalists for the top spot were Joseph Merucci, former manager of Fowlerville, Clawson, and Pleasant Ridge, Assistant to the Oakland Township Manager Elaine Leven, and retired Port Huron Fire Chief Robert Eick.
