Indiana man crashes pickup in Bad Axe

(BAD AXE) -- Bad Axe police say a 78-year old Anderson, Indiana man was involved in a multi-vehicle crash Friday afternoon around 2 p.m. on E. Huron near Buffalo Street. An investigation showed that Donald Taylor was traveling east in his Chevrolet pickup when he crossed the centerline and struck a vehicle driven by 77-year old James Hall of Bad Axe. After the initial impact, the Taylor vehicle continued to the north side of the road where it struck a parked pickup truck owned by an Ubly resident. Taylor's pickup pushed the parked pickup about 30-feet before coming to a rest. Taylor, who suffers from dementia, was transported to Huron Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. His family was contacted in Indiana and informed officers that they did not realize that he had left the state and did not know why he would be in Bad Axe. No other injuries were reported in the crash. Bad Axe Police were assisted by the Huron County Sheriff's Department and the Bad Axe Fire Department at the scene.
