(HURON TOWNSHIP) -- Huron County Sheriff's deputies recovered stolen property and a destroyed safe that was taken from a residence in the 6300 block of Hubbard Road in Huron Township. The breaking and entering was reported Sunday afternoon by a friend of the homeowner. The homeowner was out of the area. Deputies learned that the contents of the safe included keepsakes such as silver spoons, $2 bills, coins and cash valued at nearly $2,000. The description of the contents sounded familiar to Sgt. Hunt, who had seen items resembling the stolen goods just one day earlier. A 24-year old Port Hope man, who had been a traffic accident on Saturday, was in possession of the items. The man, who had moved to the area from West Virginia last August, was also a neighbor and renter of the victim. Marion Sarra was arrested and arraigned on charges including second-degree home invasion and held on a $7,500 or 10% bond.
