(SANILAC COUNTY) -- Michigan State Police Troopers say two men were seriously injured in a single-vehicle roll over crash early Sunday morning on Washington Road near State Road in Sanilac County. The crash took place around 1:45 a.m. Troopers from the Caro Post say the driver of the vehicle, a 20-year old Southfield man, was traveling east on Washington Road when he struck a deer and went off the roadway. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn multiple times. The driver and his passenger, a 19-year old St. Clair man, were transported by a family member to a nearby residence where authorities were called. Both men were taken to McKenzie Health System in Sandusky. The driver was later flown by Flight Care to St. Mary's in Saginaw where he is listed in serious condition. The passenger was later transported to Covenant Hospital in Saginaw for further treatment. Troopers say speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash, which remains under investigation. Sanilac County Sheriff's deputies, Croswell EMS and Sanilac EMS assisted Troopers at the scene.
