Local Civic Group and Municipality Contribute to War on Drugs

(HURON COUNTY) -- Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson says his department has received $700 in contributions over the last couple of months to assist in waging war against illegal drugs in the county. The Ubly Fox Hunters Club and a local municipality, that requests anonymity, donated the money. They add to the list of many other civic organizations and municipalities that have also contributed over time and supported the Sheriff's Office's effort to curb drug activity. Sheriff Hanson says he is grateful for the donations during these tough economic times and the money will be used in a variety of ways, such as buying equipment, training, overtime or even as actual buy money. Residents are reminded to report illegal drug activity by calling 989-269-6500 or the confidential tip line at 989-269-2861.
