Semi trailer struck by train

(DENMARK TOWNSHIP) -- Denmark Township Police say a Huron and Eastern Railway train struck a semi trailer last Thursday afternoon after the semi truck driver failed to stop for the flashing railroad crossing on M-46. 56-year old Billy Reese of Sebewaing was driving the semi truck hauling an empty double-bottom gravel train east on M-46 near Bradford Road when the crash took place. The second trailer was struck by the train. Neither Reese nor the driver of the train was injured. A witness reported seeing the crossing lights activated and hearing the engineer sound the train's horn prior to impact.
