Despite his contract not being renewed earlier this year, Sandusky Community Schools superintendent Paul Flynn was recently hired as Coldwater Community Schools’ next superintendent, with his duties scheduled to begin July 1, 2023.

Flynn, who was a finalist for Fowlerville School district’s superintendent in February, will be finishing out a six-year tenure with Sandusky when his contract ends on June 30 of this year. He was hired in 2017 after serving as principal at Yale High School for several years.

Meanwhile, the Sandusky Board of Education will be holding their March meeting tonight (Monday, March 20) at 7:30 p.m.

With the plan to approve board members Robert Hassler, Carolyn Stoutenburg and Norah Harding to the superintendent search committee, the board also plans to approve a resolution to join the Big Thumb Conference, the merger of the NCTL (North Central Thumb League) and GTC (Greater Thumb) conferences.

In addition, the board will be approving the 2023-2024 school calendar and an amendment to the current school year’s budget, as well as hearing monthly reports from the elementary school and junior/senior school principals.
