Starting today and estimated to last until November, a part of Lapeer Road will be closed to eastbound traffic.
Monday kicks off reconstruction work in Kimball Township, with Lapeer Road between Abbotsford Road and Wadhams Road being the focus. The $3.5 million construction project will be focused on widening Lapeer Road for a left turn lane, building a roundabout at Abbotsford Road, milling its existing asphalt and paving the shoulders.
Westbound traffic will be permitted on Lapeer Road during work, with eastbound traffic needing to take a detour, with one being set up from Taylor and Dunlap Roads to I-69 and then to Wadhams Road.
Emergency vehicles and residents will have access to Lapeer Road throughout the project, with north and southbound traffic restrictions to be announced closer to work beginning on the roundabout part of the project.
