Gabriel Wagner, the St. Clair Shores man arrested last Wednesday after a 12 hour police standoff, was arraigned Friday on seven charges related to the alleged kidnapping of his ex-wife and the subsequent barricading of them both in an Ohio hotel.

Wagner, who may face Ohio charges still, was arraigned on two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct during a felony, two counts of felonious assault, unlawful imprisonment, assault with intent to do bodily harm less than murder, and aggravated domestic violence. His bond was set at $1 million cash/surety.

Wagner is scheduled for a probable cause hearing on June 15 at 9:00 a.m. and an examination hearing on June 22 at 9:30 a.m. before St. Clair County District Court Judge Michael Hulewicz.

The case started June 1, when a 47-year-old man reported at 2:30 a.m. that Wagner had entered the East China Township property before severely him and Wagner’s ex-wife. The man reported that Wagner forced Durand into a black 2007 Honda Accord and fled the scene. They were later found at 10:00 a.m. in the Findlay hotel, where Ohio police officially joined the case, remaining outside the barricaded hotel room until Wagner released his ex-wife at 9:00 p.m. before he surrendered himself an hour later.
