Downtown Lexington on June 6 may be packed with cars, but it won’t be for the typical summer celebration– no, these drivers will probably be getting in line for the Party Store Marathon’s gas event.
The event, made possible by Tim Hering of Lakeshore Graphics and other Lexington area businesses, starts at 10:00 a.m. and offers customers $1.00 off every gallon of gas, up to 25 gallons. The gas station is located at 5621 Main Street in Lexington.
Hering was inspired to begin this project under the name “People Help People” after seeing and hearing firsthand how much gas prices are causing the community to struggle. Between him and the owners of 25 other area businesses, they raised $5000 of the $6000 in just 18 hours.
The other businesses involved include: 3 North Vines, A&W Lexington, BCM Media Blasting, The Body Shop, Champagne Agency, Farm Bureau, Fast & Efficient Power Washing, GT Concrete, JD Construction, Tracy Kritzman – Town & Country Realty, Lafata Tent Rental, Lakeport Barber, Lakeshore Graphics, Lakeview Hills Golf Course, M&M Ryan, Marathon – Lexington, Marathon Corporation, Martin Concrete, Massage 325, Roche Bar, S&D Carr & Battery, Sheridan Real Estate, Smokey Jims, States Painting, Windjammer and Village Square.
