Sandusky Police Department releases annual report

Sandusky Police Chief Bret Lester has released his department’s annual report, showing the department handled 2,595 total incidents in 2021. Of those incidents, 121 resulted in adult arrests and 14 were juvenile arrests. The Sandusky Police Department conducted 497 traffic stops in 2021, issuing 83 traffic violations, 38 written warnings and 353 verbal warnings. The department responded to 161 blight complaints and issued 31 municipal tickets. Officers also responded to 36 accidents on the road and 41 private property accidents. In 2021, the Sandusky Police Department assisted in a total of 69 calls outside of the city limits.
