Man charged in Port Huron double shooting

(ST. CLAIR COUNTY) – Port Huron Police Major Crimes Unit continues toinvestigate a double-shooting in Port Huron that took place last month.

Police responded to multiple reports of a shooting in the area of the East Quay Lot November 14th. Officers discovered that multiple cars had been shot at and several people/vehicles were fleeing in multiple directions.

Lake Huron Medical Center reported a 30 year old male Clinton Township resident was being treated for a gunshot wound to his ankle.

In addition, McLaren Port Huron Hospital reported a 23-year old male Clyde Township resident was being treated for a gunshot wound to his legs.

Investigators arrested a 30-year old suspect November 30th. The suspect was arraigned Wednesday. Marcel Woods, from Clinton Township was arraigned on eight counts including; two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder and two counts of Felony Firearm.

Woods stood mute and was given a one million dollar bond and is set to return to court December 14th.

Police say the person who fired at Woods was identified as a 23 year old Port Huron man who was legally armed and appears to have acted in self-defense, after allegedly being shot by Woods.

The 23 year old male Clyde Township resident also injured in the incident was an innocent bystander.
