Vassar closes schools due to increase in positive tests

BREAKING:

(TUSCOLA COUNTY) – Shortly after noon Tuesday, the Vassar Public Schools closed all district buildings for the day due to an increase in positive Antigen rapid tests for COVID at both Central Elementary and the 6-12 Building.

In a notice to parents and the school district, school officials said they were closing the entire school district shortly after noon in order to complete a deep clean of all district buildings.

The notice went on to say the district understood the inconvenience the closings caused and school leaders appreciated the parents understanding and support as the district navigates their way through the COVID-19 situation.

District officials promised to continue to update the public as more information became available.

Due to the district closing for deep cleaning, there will be no latchkey, indoor practices, PM tech center, or Board of Education Meeting at Vassar Tuesday.
