(MACOMB COUNTY) – Kudos to the Romeo football team in the aftermath of the tornado that struck the Armada area last week, the team came to their neighbor’s rescue.

Romeo is just situated just west of where the damaging storm roared through last week.

Area resident Diane Hulet had quite a surprise, writing on her Facebook page – “There I was, raking random house at Burk & Prospect. I looked up and wow, a beautiful sight…about 30+ Romeo High School football players come walking through the trees! These young men arrived, took up the rakes, swept up the mess and drug limbs to curb. Then they went East & West to help out, and met up again. Then they got word of a house on Tietz Rd needing help. Off we all went and spent another 2 hours cleaning up. No complaints, just dug in and got er done. Our town is so grateful for your Romeo help. Fantastic coaches to inspire them to come!!! Thank you to all those that fed these guys & kept them hydrated.”

A great sense of helping out their neighbors in a time of need and an outstanding gesture by the team. Hulet said the Armada football team has also been active in serving their community, assisting residents with clean-up. She witnessed, first-hand, the work of the Romeo players.
