Man found in burned home victim of homicide

(SANILAC COUNTY) – The investigation into the June 10th house fire in Evergreen Township where the body of a 29-year old from the Detroit area was found inside a home has been on-going.

Lt. Nathan Smith of the Sanilac County Sheriff Department said an autopsy has determined the manner of death as homicide.

The victim has been identified as Frederick Allen Morris from Detroit.

Sheriff’s Office Detectives have been actively working the murder case along with the Detroit Police Homicide Unit.

Argyle Township firefighters extinguished a structure fire at the location and later found the body while extinguishing hot spots.

Lt. Smith said the Cause of Death and any other additional information pertaining to the investigation will not be released at this time as to not interfere with its ongoing nature.

Lt. Smith said the incident is still believed to be isolated and there is no cause for public alarm.
