County Fairs hit their stride in coming weeks

(THUMB AREA) – Despite trickles of COVID cases flarring up around the area, the fair season is in high gear, with three major local fairs taking center stage in the coming weeks.

The St. Clair County 4-H Fair is currently underway and runs through the end of the week.

There are special events planned for every evening in front of the grandstands, along with a carnival on the north side of the fairgrounds property.

Meanwhile youth will be displaying and showing their 4-H projects, including livestock, throughout the week either in the horse rings or the Show Arena.

The Eastern Michigan State Fair in Imlay City opens next week on July 27th and runs through July 31st. Among the highlights in Imlay City is a Figure 8 Trailer Racing on Thursday night and Bull Riding on Wednesday evening.

The Huron County Community Fair begins August 1st and runs through the 7th while the Sanilac County Fair is just a couple of weeks away, taking place at the County Fairgrounds on Dawson Street.

Grandstand events are planned every night and a carnival midway has been secured for the fair.

The Sanilac County Fair runs August 9th through the 14th.
