Deckerville Goodtimers plan special event in August

The following is a press release from The Deckerville Goodtimers, a group of men trying to organize the Deckerville Homecoming for this year.

(SANILAC COUNTY) —  The Deckerville Goodtimers, a local nonprofit group, are proud to announce that they have picked up the reins to continue the tradition of Deckerville Homecoming for 2021, Aug 6-8.

Headed up by Justin Lindke and Brandon Stoliker, and several committees heads the Good Times in Deckerville Event brings back a lot of familiar favorite events such as the Tractor Pull, Fireworks, Social Tent, Parade and more.

A full schedule of events will be available soon.

The Goodtimers would like to acknowledge the strong support of this event from the community.

“During the first days of asking for sponsors, we have already filled our 6 title sponsorship” according to fundraising committee head Michael Keinath. “Its just been amazing to see the community rally behind this idea, it something the village and the area really wants to see continue.”

By partnering with other local groups, the Goodtimers, will help those groups raise funds for their causes.

As of now the Deckerville Girls Basketball is hosting a corn hole tournament on Saturday, and the Volleyball Team will be having a sand volley tournament, also on Saturday.

Several other area groups have been contacted to participate as well that have a lot of great ideas for events also, just trying to work out the details.

“We really want this to be a community driven and community supported event” stated Scotty Wadsworth Goodtimers President.
