Thumb Festival set to go in Sandusky

(SANILAC COUNTY) – After a year off due to the virus, the (almost) annual Sandusky Thumb Festival is gearing up for a busy, fun-filled weekend, beginning this Thursday with city-wide sidewalks sales.

A Glow-Walk at the Diamond Trail will step off at 9 pm Thursday to cap the first day’s activities.

Sidewalk sales will once again be open Friday, along with food trucks throughout town with evening hours and the Fireman’s Entertainment Tent in downtown Sandusky, in front of Sanilac Broadcasting.

The tent will open at 3 p.m. with live entertainment beginning at 9 p.m. The Lawn chair music series will be on the Courthouse Lawn at 7 p.m.

Saturday brings volleyball and horseshoe tournaments downtown along with games for kids and the Thumb Fest Fitness Challenge at Doerr Field.

Sunday’s highlights include the popular Sandusky Airport Fly-In Pancake Breakfast and the Grand Parade set to step off at 1 p.m.
