MSP and Imlay City police investigate discovery of body

 

(LAPEER COUNTY) – Michigan State Police and Imlay City law enforcement are continuing their investigation, following the discovery Tuesday morning of a deceased body next to a dumpster behind the Imlay City Burger King along M-53 near the fairgrounds.

In addition to Imlay City police and firefighters, troopers from Michigan State Police Lapeer Post and the MSP’s Bridgeport-based forensic lab unit were at the scene.

No further details were available, pending further investigation and an official report from Imlay City’s Interim Police Chief, Ron Krueger.

Earlier in the day Tuesday, police did say there was no danger to the public and it was an isolated incident on the property of Burger King.
