Deputies responded to a rollover Thursday

 

(SANILAC COUNTY) – A single vehicle rollover accident left a Sanilac County man with minor injuries late Thursday afternoon.

According to the Sanilac County Sheriff Department, Central Dispatch received a call of the accident around 6 p.m. near the intersection of South Sandusky Road and Marlette Road in Elk Township.

Deputies, along with Elk Township Fire/Rescue and Marlette EMS responded to the scene. Deputies say a 37-year-old Melvin man was driving southbound on South Sandusky Road in a 2016 Cadillac when he drove the car off the roadway onto the shoulder of the road, striking a mailbox and several road signs.

The vehicle then struck a culvert and overturned multiple times before coming to rest in the west ditch.

The Melvin man was treated at the scene by Elk Twp. Fire and Rescue and Marlette EMS for his
injuries, but refused further medical treatment or transport to a hospital.
