(SANIALC COUNTY) – The long awaited runway project at the Sandusky Airport is about to take off.
Officials with the airport say the runway reconditioning project is scheduled to start today Monday, April 26 th 2021 and will take about 35 days to complete.
The project will cause some disruptions to air traffic at the airport during the project.
The runway, known as runway 09-27 will be completely closed during the work with runway 8/36 being utilized for aircraft.
Planes will be taxing on the grass south of runway 09/27.
Airport officials encourage those who need more information to check with NOTAMS or you can call the airport.
The airport is also planning to move forward with the popular Sandusky Airport Fly-in and breakfast on June 27th.
