Kingston to host informational meeting on athletic conferences

(TUSCOLA COUNTY) – The Kingston School District will be hosting a special Board of Education meeting at 6 p.m., tonight (Tuesday) at the high school that is sure to get the attention of many residents within the district.

School officials say the purpose of the meeting is to talk about athletics, and for the board to consider the pros and cons of a possible league change.

For years, Kingston has been part of the North Central Thumb League but now district officials are contemplating moving from the NCTL to the Greater Thumb Conference.

School officials did not say whether they would be placed in the East or West division, if the decision was made to switch conferences.

The board expects to hear ideas, opinions and share concerns about the topic and are expecting a large gathering of those interested in the discussion.

No decisions are expected to be made at the meeting.
