High School basketball scores for Thursday, March 4th

BOYS

UBLY 44, SANDUSKY 42 – BUZZER BEATER WINNING SHOT The two teams seemed destined for overtime – until a late Sandusky turnover allowed the Bearcats to get off a desperation shot – that went in – giving the Bearcats the dramatic win. Zach Franzel paced the Sandusky scoring with 12 points. Kyle Sweeney had 17 for the Bearcats and Cole Hagen added 12.

HARBOR BEACH 61, CAPAC 45

BROWN CITY 71, MARLETTE 68 -Brown City held on for the GTC-East win, despite an outstanding game by Marlette’s Collin Miller who ripped the nets for 42 points. Miller scored 28 in the first half and finished the game with 11 3’s. Curtis Stanley tossed in 26 points for the Green Devils and Gaden Muxlow finished with 25 with 16 of his points coming in the second half.

BAD AXE 59, LAKERS 38 – Aaron Sowels pumped in 25 points to lead the winners while Noah Kervin and D’Carlos Sageman each chipped in with 10 points. Sawyer Kozfkay had 17 to lead all Laker scorer’s.

VASSAR 52, UNIONVILLE-SEBEWAING 39 – FIRST WIN OVER USA SINCE THE 2014/15 SEASON

OWEN-GAGE 68, AKRON-FAIRGROVE 47 – Boyd Evans had 20 points and 18 rebounds and Andrew Partaka scored 23 to lead the Bulldogs.

DECKERVILLE 49, GENESEE 46 Karly Kappen had 17 and Jenna Parker tossed in 15 with 17 rebounds to pace the Deckerville scoring.

OWEN-GAGE 50, AKRON-FAIRGROVE 36 It was the Lady Bulldogs’ first win of season
