(ST. CLAIR COUNTY) – A four vehicle crash yesterday afternoon in Emmett Township ended with one person being transported to a local hospital, while another sought his own treatment.

According to St. Clair County Sheriff Mat King, deputies were dispatched to Emmett Road (M-19) just south of Imlay City Road for a four car crash shortly after 3:00 p.m.

Once deputies arrived, they spoke to those involved and witnesses.  Deputies were able to determine that an 18 year old female from Emmett Township was driving a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am northbound on M-19. She was slowing and stopped to turn into a driveway.

A 16 year old male from Emmett Township was also heading northbound in his 2010 Chevrolet Silverado and struck the Grand Am from behind.

As a result of the original crash, the Grand Am crossed the centerline and side-swiped a 2016 Nissan, driven by a 63 year old woman from Lynn Township, which was heading southbound.

The Silverado also crossed the centerline after the initial crash and struck a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 53 year old Brockway Township woman.

The 18 year old female was transported by Tri-Hospital EMS to McLaren Port Huron Hospital with undisclosed injures.

The 16 year old male sought his own treatment at a local hospital.

The other two drivers declined treatment at the scene of the crash, which is still under investigation.

Emmett Township Fire and Rescue also assisted at the scene of the crash.
