HS BASKETBALL SCORES – WEDNESDAY, MARCH 3RD

GIRLS BASKETBALL

SANDUSKY 35, UBLY 33 – All Guibord connected on three triples and finished with 11 points to help spark the Lady Redskins to the key GTC-East win. Guibord hit two triples in the second quarter to help tie the game up at 16-16 at the half and then scored five of her team’s 13 third quarter points as Sandusky led 29-23 after three quarters. Emmy Bender chipped in with seven points for the winners and Hannah Leen chipped in with five points.

Harbor Beach 58, Capac 13 (Harbor Beach is 1st place in Greater Thumb East Standings, Sandusky is one game back and Ubly is two games back, but plays Harbor Beach twice late in the regular season.)

Brown City 41, Marlette 39 – Olivia Bovenchen tossed in 19 points to help her team hold off Marlette in the GTC-East rivalry contest. Ashlyn Perales led Marlette with 10 points. Brown City improves to 3-6 overall while Marlette slips to 5-4 overall.

Bad Axe 52, Elkton-Pigeon-Bay Port Lakers 37 – Kathryn Himmel scored 16 points and Camryn Affer chipped in 12 for the lady hatchets as they picked up the GTC-West win. Lauren Henry led Laker with 13 points.

Cass City 55, Caro 51 – Saylar Cuthrell had 18 points and Abbey Halabis added 13 to lead Cass City, over-shadowing an outstanding night for Caro’s Adelyn Moore who ripped the nets for 34 points.

Unionville-Sebewaing 39, Vassar 27 – Grace Williamson lead the way for the lady Patriots, scoring 15 points while Josa Ross scored 9 in a losing effort for Vassar.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Croswell-Lexington 90, Imlay City 18 – Five Pioneer players scored in double figures in the lopsided win over the Spartans. Hunter Soper tossed in 18 to lead the Cros-Lex scoring while Jake Townsend canned 14 points, Tyler Johnston and Saige Slanac scored 12 apiece and Trey Kolakovich scored 11. The Pioneers are now 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the BWAC heading into Friday night’s game at North Branch. The game will be the boys Game of the Week on WBGV 92.5 FM
