12-year old struck by vehicle in Peck

The Sanilac County Sheriff Department is investigating an accident in Peck Tuesday afternoon that left a 12-year old child injured. According to deputies, around 4 p.m., Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call reporting a pedestrian had been struck by a car on Lapeer and Mills Street in the Village of Peck. Deputies, along with the Elk Township Fire Department and Croswell EMS responded to the scene. According to deputies, a 12-year-old Peck child ran across Lapeer Street, into the path of a westbound 2015 GMC pick-up driven by a 60-yearold Peck man. The child was treated on scene and later transported to McLaren Hospital in Port Huron for treatment of injuries. Names of those involved are being withheld as the incident remains under investigation.
