Madison Heights man arrested in Port Huron stabbing

An argument over a vehicle led to a stabbing and the arrest of a 21-year old Madison Heights man Wednesday night in Port Huron. According to a press release from the Port Huron Police Department, officers were sent to Lake Huron Medical Center shortly after 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night after receiving reports of a 37-year old Burtchville Township man arriving at the hospital with multiple stab wounds. Investigation and statements from witnesses revealed that the man had been in the 1600 block of Jay Street in Port Huron, arguing with a 21-year old male about a vehicle. The 21-year old’s friend, also 21, got involved, and eventually stabbed the 37-year old man several times before fleeing the scene. The Port Huron Police Major Crimes Unit worked with the Madison Heights Police Department to arrest the suspect at his home in Madison Heights. He was transported to the St. Clair County Intervention Center, where he is lodged on charges of Attempted Murder. The 21-year old who lived in the 1600 block of Jay Street was also placed under arrest on charges of Aiding and Abetting and Resisting/Obstructing a police officer.
