One dead, five injured in M-25 crash

A three-vehicle crash in St. Clair County’s Burtchville Township Sunday night claimed the life of a Croswell man and injured five others. According to the St. Clair County Sheriff Department, a 1997 Ford F-150 driven by the 19-year old Croswell man, was headed northbound in the 6500 block of M-25 just before 6:45 Sunday evening, when he attempted to pass a pickup truck pulling a trailer in a no-passing zone and collided head-on with a southbound 2014 Lincoln. The head-on collision resulted in another crash with the northbound pickup as well.

The 19-year old Croswell man was transported to McLaren Macomb hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His passenger, an 18-year old Croswell woman, remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the southbound Lincoln, a 39-year old Port Huron woman, was transported to McLaren Port Huron and later transferred to McLaren Macomb where she is being treated for serious injuries. Her 11-year old child was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The driver and passenger of the northbound pick-up and trailer were also suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

M-25 between Myrtle and Norman roads was shut down for several hours for cleanup and investigation. St. Clair County Sheriff’s deputies were assisted at the scene by the Fort Gratiot Fire Department, Burtchville Township Fire Department, the St. Clair County Road Commission, and Tri Hospital EMS. The crash remains under investigation.
