Hearing held for Peck man allegedly involved in incident

(SANILAC COUNTY) – An exam hearing was held Monday afternoon for a Peck man being charged with allegedly hitting and killing an elderly woman last fall.

Adam Bullock, 31, is facing five charges along with a new request from the Prosecution on Monday for a sixth charge, a 4-year felony of tampering with evidence.

Of the five charges currently in place, two are felony charges, including failure to stop at the scene of an accident, while at fault, causing death, while three others are misdemeanors.

He faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison on the five charges.

Around 3 pm on October 18th, a Michigan State Police Caro Post trooper responded to a report of an elderly woman in the road on Elk Street near Lapeer Street in Peck and found Mary Ann Longuski, 77, critically injured and determined she had been hit by a vehicle, police said.

Longuski was transported to the hospital, where she later died.

During the hearing Monday, several witnesses including a MSP Trooper and a paramedic from Tri-Hospital EMS testified, saying Bullock allegedly did not report the incident as an accident, rather than a medical emergency of a woman who was in the roadway.

Judge Gregory Ross asked both the Prosecution and Defense attorneys to prepare briefs on specific aspects on the case with a ruling on the question of whether or not Bullock is bound over for trial.

Bullock has been released on a $20,000 personal recognizance bond and will be back in court next month for Judge Ross’ ruling.
