Defendant Jefferson had been the subject of an ongoing investigation by the Caro Police Department and Thumb Narcotics Unit involving his obtaining Methamphetamine in the City of Flint and returning to the City of Caro for distribution. This conduct was again confirmed on January 15th and the defendant was ultimately stopped and arrested in the City of Caro during the late evening hours on that date with a substantial quantity of Methamphetamine being seized.
Defendant Patterson had been the subject of an ongoing investigation by the Caro Police Department, Thumb Narcotics Unit and Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office involving the theft of several thousand dollars worth of tools as well as other property. He was observed during the morning hours of January 16th by a Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office Deputy in possession of what was believed to be a stolen ATV. It appeared the defendant had towed the ATV to where he was found using his vehicle and a power cord as a tow strap which had frayed. Several tools were also observed in plain view in his vehicle. He was subsequently arrested.
A search warrant was executed at defendant Walker’s residence in Indianfields Township on January 16th. Several stolen tools were located and seized and defendant Walker was subsequently arrested.
The Office of the Prosecuting Attorney wishes to recognize and commend the extraordinarily well coordinated law enforcement investigation between the Caro Police Department, Thumb Narcotics Unit and Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office that had been ongoing for weeks and ultimately resulted in the arrests and authorization of charges over the weekend.
Countless hours were spent by members of each of the above agencies obtaining various items of interrelated evidence and information that became critical to understanding what had transpired. Multiple search warrants were drafted in conjunction with the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney that resulted in the seizure of stolen property.
It is important to note we once again find ourselves beset with a high volume of activity/incidents involving the distribution and use of Methamphetamine. This results in countless crimes being committed and multiple citizens being victimized.  Investigations are continuing in regard to each of the defendant’s listed above and additional charges may be authorized.
